Valsteam ADCA Steam Engineering Products: An Industrial Selection Guide

Valsteam ADCA steam engineering products installed in an industrial plant

Valsteam ADCA develops equipment for steam, condensate and process-fluid systems, with two complementary ranges: ADCA for industrial utilities and ADCAPure for high-purity applications. Choosing between them starts with the service—not simply the connection size.

ADCA industrial steam equipment

The industrial range covers steam traps, pressure regulators, control valves, check valves, strainers, sight glasses, pressure-operated pumps and packaged equipment. These products are used in boiler houses, distribution mains, heat exchangers, tracing systems and condensate returns.

Steam traps

Valsteam offers thermodynamic, float and thermostatic, inverted-bucket, thermostatic and bimetallic designs. Selection depends on condensate load, differential pressure, air-venting requirement, superheat, installation orientation and whether condensate must be removed continuously or can be subcooled.

Pressure and flow control

Direct-acting and pilot-operated regulators serve different capacity and accuracy requirements. Control valves are available for modulating and shut-off duties with pneumatic or electric actuation. A correct selection requires minimum, normal and maximum flow—not only the pipe diameter.

Pipeline ancillaries

Strainers, check valves and sight checkers protect traps and prevent reverse flow. Valsteam’s official pipeline-ancillaries page lists the RT25 threaded and RD40 wafer check valves, together with the SCKi sight checker.

ADCAPure for clean utilities

ADCAPure is intended for pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic and fine-chemical processes using clean steam, filtered gases, purified water and other high-purity media. Valsteam states that ADCAPure products are cleaned, assembled and tested in ISO 14644-1 certified clean rooms. The range includes sanitary steam traps, regulators, control valves, safety valves and pipeline ancillaries.

Information needed for selection

  • Fluid and required purity level
  • Minimum and maximum flow
  • Inlet, outlet and backpressure
  • Operating and design temperature
  • Connection standard and orientation
  • Material, surface finish and elastomer requirements
  • Required certification and documentation
  • CIP/SIP or cleanability requirements
