WHAT IS A SATURATED STEAM PRV?
A Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) reduces high inlet steam pressure to a stable, lower downstream pressure required by plant equipment. In saturated steam systems, maintaining correct downstream pressure ensures optimal heat transfer, prevents equipment damage, and improves energy efficiency.
Key selection criteria: inlet pressure range, required downstream pressure, flow rate (Kv), body material (carbon steel / stainless), and whether direct-acting or pilot-operated design is needed.
