CLEAN STEAM vs. SATURATED STEAM PRVs
Clean steam PRVs differ from standard saturated steam PRVs in materials and surface finish. The body and all wetted parts are SS316L (not carbon steel), internal surfaces are electropolished to Ra ≤ 0.8 µm to prevent bacterial adhesion, and connections are typically Tri-Clamp or hygienic flanged rather than standard flanges.
Applications: WFI generation, sterile manufacturing, autoclaves, CIP/SIP systems, food sterilisers, and pharmaceutical steam distribution.
